Botox® / Dysport® / Xeomin®
Neuromodulator injections (containing purified Botulinum toxin A) is administered to temporarily relax facial muscle responsible for wrinkles. When it is injected into a muscle, it stops the nerve impulse from reaching the muscle, thus preventing it from contracting as strongly. This causes the muscle to weaken and relax, allowing the overlying skin to soften and causing wrinkles in the area to disappear. Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin® has been in use for many years and is approved by the FDA.
Botox® is also FDA approved for the treatment of migraines/headaches and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Botox® is also indicated for the treatment of TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) disorders.
Injectable dermal fillers (containing hyaluronic acid) is FDA-approved. Dermal fillers are administered to various areas of the face to restore volume, smooth out wrinkles and improve facial harmony and contour.
